I'm going for a week to Gran Canaria with my lovely family

We're planning to pay a visit to the capitol city Las Palmas

I've never been there

It's going to be super interesting!!

We have checked out some places on the internet already. 

I recommend you to do that, you'll save time wandering around not knowing what's where

I made that mistake when going to the States this summer

I had no idea of any city then New York, where I had been last year

So e.g. We walked around in Washington DC and L.A with a map but not knowing what we could find with it

So we never found some of the places that we were looking for

(it was only some shops but you get my point)

So now we've printed some pages with names of street in Las Palmas and what you find on them

We also checked out some malls

I'll check where exactly the "old town" is.

But except the trip to Las Palmas, I probably wont have anything particularly interesting, it's just a family vacation for swimming and sunbathing :D I'll try to practice Spanish as much as possible.  

I'll also be doing some shit loads of

homework. Luckily i have some time at home before we leave and when we arrive home. 

And the flight time is about six hours, so I'll have a lot of time to read the books I'm supposed to read. 

But it's totally worth it!!!! 

I've been waiting for this for months

When I saw the first part I had missed the fact that they're making it to a trilogy.
I was so happy to see a Tolkien film (by Peter Jackson) in the cinema
And was a little sad when the film ended
and then my friend said that there'll be SIX MORE HOURS to watch!!
No sadness no more.

I had almost forgotten about the whole thing (so thank you social media) but this was a nice reminder.
Reminder yes.
And now I'll be waiting impatiently.
Just two months and 10 days to go.
Oh my.

If you still haven't read the book, do it. I really recommend, it's naturally better than the movie. And it's not as looong and difficult as the Lord of the Rings. It's just one book and there happens a lot.
Remember that it has two names: Bilbo AND the Hobbit, it's the same name.
So don't think you've found a new book.
Agatha Christie's books have also changed their titles at least two times til this day.

finland-austria

Went to see some more football, this time with my team. It was the ladies qualification game for the European Championships, Finland - Austria. This was also played in Turku. Great game! And Finland won 2-1!!

It would be so awesome to go to a book fair! I'm abroad when Turku arranges, but I could go to Helsinki! A book fair would be heaven.

My friend, who's book I just reviewed, http://workhardtravelfar.blogspot.fi/2013/09/winners.html is going to Gothenburg (so if your going to be there, look for Ursula Vuorenlinna!).
All the newspapers write about the coming fairs.
I think that the one of the biggest is arranged in Frankfurt.

On Monday I went (alone) to watch the game between Finland and Faroe islands, girls under 19. It was a qualification game for the European Championships. The game was played in Turku. It was a good game and Finland won 2-0! The Finnish ladies and girls are the ones actually winning stuff.

winners!

WE WON THE LEAGUE!! WE ACTUALLY WON! Now we are int the SECOND DIVISION! We are the first ladies team in the history of our club (Åbo IFK) and we started in the 3rd division 2012.
We still have a game left, but by winning yesterday's game we won the league.
It was played in Tampere, against I-Kissat.
The pitch was smaller than pitches usually are. That was annoying.
The first goal was scored by I-Kissat.
But on the second half we scored. And man it was beautiful, a shot from near the half way -line.
Back to square one.
Then a moment later we scored again.
My god, that happiness!
And our last goal felt great. 3-1, thank you very much.
That was the most thrilling game in my life.
My poor nerves.
I didn't get to play a single minute, but I don't mind. Winning is more important.
It would have been enough with a draw, but then we would have needed to win the last game.
Now it doesn't matter.
This feels so great, after two years of hard work. Thank you ladies <3

And then, my review of my friends book was published in the local news paper, Åbo Underrättelser
The text was barely edited, and I feel so happy for that! They said that they might do some changes in the text if needed, you know.
The book is mainly for children and the author is Ursula Vuorenlinna. It's a good book with a lovely main character who does not give up, no matter what. She's a hero, walks her own path.
The names are Det stora rullstolsäventyret(swe)/Suuri pyörätuoliseikkailu(fin)
The story tells about ants.
Could it be better??
A great thing with the book is that it in both Swedish and Finnish, one story in two languages between the same covers (as you can see on the picture).
A great idea! That's like an awesome way to practice either Swedish or Finnish and so on. And then you wont get the problem "oh, I can't read this aloud the these kids because it's in the wrong language".
Saved me once.

broken and breaking

During the last couple of months I've broken quite a lot of things. I don't know how I've managed to do that. I'm usually not the one breaking my things, but suddenly everything's breaking
For example I broke my bike.
On the other hand it has lasted for 5-6 years now, so that's pretty good. And it'll be fixed in a week or so.
Last week we glued my shoe
During the summer I've broken two other pairs.
My pencil is broken
You know it's one of those you can refill.
My lap top's battery is not lasting for much longer
My lens broke at some point. And this is the most embarrassing and stupid point. The camera started to get errors in June, and in the US it got worse. The camera told me that there's probably some dirt in it, that I should clean it, but there was no. Until there was sand a week later. What. I wished so badly that it would be the camera itself not working, and not the lens, but I was wrong. The lens is the expensive part in a systems camera and that's the part I break of course. If it not possible to get sand out from beneath the part you twist when you zoom. Go me.
It's pretty funny that a lot of things are breaking at the same time.
The print from one of my t-shirts is getting peeled of. And it's a new shirt (from Chinatown).
I'm not complaining, I'm actually laughing. The timing is just so perfect.
The speaker for apple products is all of a sudden silent and I don't know weather it's broken or if something's wrong with my ipod.
It looks like it would be a good thing to clean my room and see what else has broken :D What's next? My phone? Oh, wait, it broke right after the summer vacation started, and at the moment I have my brothers old phone. That's a funny story cause it suddenly just stopped working, after I had charged the battery the screen started flickering and then it just died.
It was pretty creepy.
I have two batteries for my camera and the other one always gets stuck. But every time it's even harder to get it out. Last time I had five minutes to get it out because it was empty before the sunset started. Luckily I didn't miss any of the sunset, but when I finally go it out (int time) I almost threw it down to the bottom of Grand Canyon.

I haven't seen it

The highest up in North that I've been is Kemi, Ruka (ski resort) and Tornio/Haparanda (Haparanda is in Sweden, the same city as Tornio but the border goes in there between) and that's Lapland already.
It would be so interesting and amazing to travel even further up north, to Inari and other places!
I've never seen northern lights and they look so beautiful on pictures.
The stupid part here is that pretty recently there were some here in the south and I kinda knew it
But I was inside doing something else.
I have windows on my ceiling
And I still didn't see them
Too lazy to go outside and look

Body worlds at Heureka

Why do I keep believing that I'm going to be super efficient in the train?
That I'm going to do homework and so on.
Because I don't.
I just get this error and listen to music and stare out of the window.
I should stop expecting anything like that of myself.
Because I'm lazy.
But I actually read some pages in my book.
A chapter or two.

And when we arrived to Heureka (science center) in Tikkurila (Vantaa), a nice queue was waiting for us.

And the line continued inside.
But it could have been so much worse!
And the sun was shining and we had a lot to talk about so the 50 minutes went quite fast.
I can really understand the line, cause the exhibition was so cool!

Before we entered the Body Worlds exhibition, me and my two friends went to the planetarium-thingy to see a short movie-documentary about space. (Löytyretki avaruuteen/Fragile planet)

That was so awesome (even if it wasn't my first time) and I learned new things! For e.g. on some of the moons, belonging to Saturn and Jupiter, there might be life at some point! And the whole video itself was wonderful.
Because I love the night sky when it's all black, full of stars.

Like we wouldn't have queued enough, there was a separate line to the Body Worlds exhibition itself.

Nothing's slimy or bloody, it's just that the stuff is real, plasticized, but real.
And no skin
This exhibition was super cool and interesting, you saw how things actually look like!
The next weekend is by the way the last weekend.
I learned new things. It was also amazing to see real nerves, brains, lungs and so on. Everything was really well done and easily presented, no complicated explanations on the information signs or so. The exhibition was something really worth visiting, and I'm not even especially interested in biology.
I'm very impressed, is was awesome and something so different, eye opening.
So, thank you UFA (unga forskare i Åboland = young scientist in the area of Turku) for arranging this trip, for letting us come along (by first becoming members)!
UFA is an organisation for students in natural science. Mostly. I'm an exception :D (psychology, ethics and languages)

So.
I really started blogging
Though I never actually thought that I would do it
Because I simply just wasn't interested
But apparently I change
People who know me know that too.
But I got so inspired
My good friend is currently living as an exchange student in New Zealand
And other important people to me are blogging too
And they're saying so many good things
So I suddenly I just got a lot of ideas
